I am human and I write stuff

‘You wrote a book?’
Yes I did.
Several in fact.

I sit and stare at a blank page.
I wander around with thoughts forming in my head.
I try to convey my message in a way that hopefully makes sense to the reader.
I change my mind which words to use.
You could make a novel out of my deleted sentences in the five years since I published my first book. If you take the previous decades on board you could make a series. It wouldn’t make a lot of sense, so it’s unlikely you’d want to read it, but that isn’t really the point I’m trying to make.
Feel free to check my social media particularly Instagram if you want to see examples of my non book worthy writing.
I am, shock horror, a human writer.
Yes this species is still alive and well.
We type imperfect sentences, obsess over punctuation (I NEED someone to check mine before I publish a book) and keep a notepad by our beds.
We ‘check one thing’ and emerge hours later as experts on obscure stuff we will never use.
We live in an increasingly automated world.
We want everything quickly.
Creation takes time and effort.
We make every effort to make sure what we produce is the best we can make it. Writing and publishing is something I do with pride. I am not alone.
Yes it means that readers may have a long wait between books, but I believe the old adage comes in here – good things come to those who wait.
