FINALLY Rainbow’s Book of Prompts is out in the world yay!
Here’s the blurb -
‘As writers we all get stuck sometimes. We need a place to begin or something to help us get to the next part of the story.
This book is like a friend you can turn to in those moments. It says how about this? It might get you out of a rut or help you with exercises you do for fun to keep those writing muscles working.
It’s something to keep in your writing toolbox for whenever you need it.
Help is just a page turn away…’
and the inevitable link https://mybook.to/Rainbowsbookofprompts
Nineteen guest authors contributed to twelve types of prompts over several sections.
Thanks very much to -
Alethea Lyons, Alexandra Peel, Cheryl Burman, Eve Koguce, Heather Lynn, J. M. Langan, Jeanne Roland, Jessica Ungeheuer, J. C. Paulson, K. L. Small, K. T. McGivens, Karen Honnor, Ken Paulson, P. S. C. Willis, Rue Sparks, R. E. Loten/Henrietta Edwards, Tanya Packer, Tessa Barrie and Vastine Bondurant.
Getting this book out in the world has been an experience and taken far longer than I envisaged when I started. I have learned a LOT about formatting!
Special thanks to those I tortured for not screaming ‘Enough about prompt book!’ when I’m sure at times they were tempted to.
Writing this book happened because I couldn’t write fiction or poetry and my brain demanded creative words. I’m not me if I don’t write. It’s been part of who I am since I was 11 years old - that’s a LONG time.
Reading non fiction always leads me back to reading fiction so I guess it makes sense that writing non fiction has the same effect. Poetry, short stories and picture books are on the way.
I hope that if you are ever in a writing slump or need a challenge or just want to try something new Rainbow’s Book of Prompts will work for you like it did for me.
Happy Writing
Lilyx
